Toyota tried to build a retro-styled SUV with impeccable off-roading prowess with the FJ Cruiser. And the brand succeeded too, launching the vehicle back in 2006. Even though the American market saw the last FJ Cruiser being sold back in 2014, it still is a common sight though. Based on the original FJ40 Land Cruiser model, the FJ Cruiser bears several design similarities with the former while carrying modern equipment and techs.
When it comes to making off-roading vehicles, Toyota is quite well heard-of. And plenty of adventure lovers swear by the utility vehicles from the Japanese auto giant as well. The FJ Cruiser was the brand’s attempt at resurrecting the original FJ40 Land Cruiser in a modern avatar.
Launched back in 2006, the SUV had a short production run of eight years in the US before getting pulled off back in 2014. However, the SUV is still known for its rugged build and off-road-friendly characteristics. Like other utility vehicles out there, the FJ Cruiser can also be turned into a more capable and visually appealing trail-friendly vehicle through extensive modifications. And we’ll take a look at some of the enhanced FJ Cruisers below.
